Welcome back to Tech Service Today's IT Disaster of the Week series where we showcase the ugliest IT environment our technicians run into this past week. As you look at this photo, imagine a Pirate’s voice saying “Time for ye to walk the plank”. I would add a “Har Har”, but there is nothing funny about environments like this.

At this customer site, our Technician arrived to find that this restaurant was undergoing a complete renovation and the floors had not yet been installed. So he literally had to walk planks of wood to move around in the facility.

Truth be told, when our Technicians are tasked with installing network cabling, they actually prefer sites with open floors and walls because it makes the job of pulling cables throughout the facility far easier than dealing with a finished space where cables must be fished above ceilings and through walls.

So even though the thought of traversing planks of wood across open floors may look and sound scary, it really isn't a true IT disaster. But we featured it this week because it represents one of the many challenging environments our Technicians work in every day.

Check back every Friday for TST's latest IT Disaster of the Week photo

which represents one of the thousands of customer sites our technicians visit every year as they install and service IT, networking, and telecom equipment & cabling for our clients.
