Welcome back to Tech Service Today's IT Disaster of the Week series where we post the ugliest IT environment our technicians run into each week.

This week's Before photo makes it clear that the saying One Size Fits All was not developed for the technology industry - and especially not for patch cables.

Most of the IT industry's manufacturers of CatX patch cables (meaning Cat5/5e/6/6a/7) offer stock cable lengths ranging from as short as 6-inches all the way up to 100-feet+. So why would anyone use a 6-foot or 10-foot patch cable to connect a patch panel to a switch when they are mounted just inches from one another within the same network rack?

Fortunately, this customer had the good sense to call Tech Service Today and request our Cable Cleanup Service.

The After picture (below) illustrates how capable Tech Service Today's skilled IT Technicians are at transforming even the ugliest IT disasters into clean, organized network environments. By cleaning up a cable disaster, you not only eliminate an eye sore, but also reduce the amount of time required to perform even the simplest moves/adds/changes, improve air flow to sensitive equipment like servers, and even reduce the chances of accidental disconnects.
